JUNK,
May 13, 2008
By nothaapy
"Total piece of junk, had trouble assembling, back dosent set straight up, not sturdy, and now after 6 months it finally broke. The pot metal that the piston assembly sets into cracked when I sat in it and down I went. After looking in the parts store the model number isnt listed, so today is garbage day so goodbye.."

Stool with Arm rests!,
January 20, 2008
By TehachapiCalifSingleMomfrom Bellflower, California
"I purchased a Craftsman Stool with arm rests, same style, but with armrests for my father for Christmas, 2007. He has been disabled from work for several years and likes to tinker around the garage fixing things for the family. At first he was a little amazed and questioned weather he would like it, now he uses it all the time. The only change He would make to it is to have the kind of wheels on it that will allow you to roll it to where ever you want, but when you sit in it, it locks in to place. He would like this as he cant lift heavy things. Thanks craftsman, this is wonderful!"

"Within 3 weeks, My unit failed. The seat is attached to the hydralic shaft with a black collar that only has 3 ea, 3/8" tack welds connecting them together. All of them broke, putting me on the floor. Very poor attachment and very poor quality of the welds. Better check yours for cracks or you may end up on the floor also."

"Purchased one stool three months back. Simple assembly, but recommend own tools. Comfortable, durable and adds some "finish" to the bench area. Use it mainly while sharpening chain saw blades and soldering at bench. Brother-in-law liked it so much I just bought another so he can watch me work!!"

"Just bought a pair of these stools for my garage. Out of the box, they look pretty easy to assemble. And they are for the most part, but the instructions are pretty useless. The step by step is on one side, the diagram on the other, so you have to constantly flip back and forth. Better off not using them, everything is self explanatory. The included mini wrench and hex wrench are useless as well, they hardly fit the included bolts. Safe yourself a lot of time and use a good phillips screwdriver/good hex wrench/and VISE grips, and make this job a lot quicker.
Once assembled, they are really nice looking. Mine has a slight uneven wobble to it, but still a good garage stool. Padding is pretty good. Worth the money."

"I purchased this stool for my reloading bench. So far it has worked perfectly. The height and comfort is exceptional and the 360 degree swivel really comes in handy when performing mutlitple tasks while reloading both shotshells and rifle shells. I did use my own wrench and screwdriver to assemble it though. It was hard to use the small tools supplied with the stool. I highly recommend this stool for anyone having to do a lot of sitting at a work bench."

"I ordered this stool for my husband for Father's Day to use in his shop. I ordered it online to pick up at the store. It was easy and helpful to know it was in stock at the store. My husband seems to really like the stool and it is the right height for a work bench."

"Found the chair a perfect compliment to my garage work bench. I had it assembled within 30 minutes myself using my own tools. Craftsmanship is excellent. Foot adjustments and hydraulic seat lift make it functional in almost any setting. Appears quite durable. I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat."

"I bought two of these for my father who recently built himself a new workshop. He loves them and when I visit we enjoy sitting in them while we talk. He really likes the padded seat and backrest.
He also modified some small roller wheels for them and that makes it really nice to scoot around."

"I find that this is a really great chair. It was easy to put together and is very comfortable. It appears to be top quality. My father saw it and said he liked it very much. So just the other day I put him one on order and I am having it sent to his home. He does not know, so it should be a welcomed suprise."

"I have always found Craftsment products to be of high quality and a good value-until now. The overall quality is poor. The steel tubing supports for the backrest are not evenly formed on both sides making it impossible to adjust the back so it is level. The locking mechanism for the backrest is cheaply made and does not function smoothly. It will fail at an early date. The vinyl material is thin and of low quality. The seat itself is too small for my 190 pound bottom. The tools provided for assembly are inadequate to torque the fasteners properly. Fortunately, I have the correct tools. I have many of my Craftsmen products for more than 35 years. This one may last six months."

"I received two of these as a gift, and in less than 3 months both were broke. One stool the hydraulics never worked from day one, it wouldn't stay where you put it. The other one, the legs and bottom fell off. My wife was hot because she told me how much she paid for them, got on the phone with Sears and luckily they replaced them because it had been less than three months. So, we will try again. So far, so good, but its only been three weeks. For the amount of money, I expected better quality, especially being Craftsman, and that being said, you would expect Sears to stand behind them a little longer than a three month time frame. Not sure if I will recommend them to my friends yet, they like them when they visit, not sure they want to dish out that kind of money for something that isn't going to last too long."

"I don't understand some of the other reviews that say this stool's quality is poor. It seems to be decently made and about right for the price. You do have to assemble it, but that doesn't take long."
