"This vacuum is amazing! I have 3 pets- including a huge Lab that should be bald by now with as much hair as he sheds. I also have a new baby who is crawling around on the floor. I needed something that would suck up all the pet hair. I bought this vacuum yesterday and its AMAZING! I wish I'd have known- I would have bought this months ago. I love the dirt sensor on it. I was horrified to see how much dirt it was sucking up. YUCK! I've vacuumed the whole house 3 times already. This is hands down the best vacuum I've ever used. My mom and sister are now buying one too. Consumer Reports rated this #1 for a reason."

"Love this Progressive Intelliclean vac!!! I've owned Oreck, Hoover Bagless Wind Tunnel and many others and this Kenmore beats them all. I "tried" the Dyson ... no thanks, I was not impressed. After the Dyson disappointment, I checked Consumer Reports and learned about this highest rated Kenmore Progressive. I returned the Dyson the day after I purchased it and then went directly to Sears and got this machine for $200 less. I really like the Intelliclean lights (optics). The first time I used it I wondered if the light would ever go green to indicate there was no more dirt coming into the vac - when it did go green I realized just how much dirt had remained in the carpet after using the Wind Tunnel :-( It works great on both carpet and tile. The 3 level suction is great to use when vac'ing throw rugs, etc!! The suction via the hand tools is also super. The machine is well built (Dyson was cheap plastic) and has a long, heavy duty hose for the hand tools. The power cord is long so no need to change plug for other rooms. Quick and easy handle assembly (not so with Wind Tunnel). Another super feature is this machine does not have belts that wear out and require changing!!! With 6 animals in the house, I must vac 3-4 times a week. The bagless Wind Tunnel was a major hassle to clean "before" I could even vac - it has a terrible design and I had to clean the filters every time I used the machine. I'm back to a bag and now understand the bag is "part of the filter" system!! If you can go into a Sears store to make this purchase, do so!! The information provided by the friendly sales woman was very valuable and helpful. And to the one comment about it not having a bag ... it does come with a non-reusable, cloth bag, so the missing bag was a factory oversight. This is a great machine and I highly recommend it!!!"

"I would highly recommend this vacuum. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and ALOT of hair talk about suction this vacuum just goes to town. The floor looks and feels great when you are finished. This vacuum does have GREAT power and easy to use features at a cost efficient price. Move over DYSON because the competition is right here. Very pleased with our decision to purchase this vacuum. Not to mention the GREAT reviews consumer reports have given it. Also this vacuum is unbelievably QUIET !!! I have 3 children and a very hectic schedule so nothing like talking on the phone and vacuuming at the same time so great to multitask. "Why spend $500+ on a Dyson so you can be part of the pop-culture icon when this mad machine will do the job even better (as rated by consumer reports).
Bought one this weekend. So easy to put together. Collects the dirt, collects the cat hair on the couch, even works on the cat! (No really, I did - it's got this cool low-suction setting you can use with the hand tool and I vacuumed the cat. Surprisingly, he didn't seem to object).
Anyway, after having lousy vacuums for most of my life, I was really excited to actually vacuum. And it was half the cost of some of the other ones out there, and works even better. Can't go wrong!"

"Although I would give an excellent rating based on my own purchase and use, I now have reservations for sae unit I bought for my granddaughter. Having the unit less than 30 days, the power selections on the handle are changing automatically on their own, not staying in desired mode. The unit is currently in the Sears repair shop, but I have now lost confidence in that unit. My experience with electronics is if there a problem within 30 days, there wil be problems continuously. This unit should have been replaced and returned to the manufacture. Sears has lost my confidence sending to their own repair shop."

"I bought this when one of my 'old' vacuums died. I didn't realize how much dirt was left in my carpet from my old vacuums until I bought this unit. We have kids but no pets in the house, and we are a shoeless house. I did a lot of comparison shopping on-line, including reading a number of user reviews from several sites including Consumer Reports. I did not want a $500 vacuum. I did want something that did a good job as an upright or with the hose and tools. This is a great vacuum for the price. We have a 2 story house and a full basement and I plan to get another vacuum to cover the main floor. The edge cleaning ability of the upright isn't as good as using the tools, but that's fairly standard."

"I bought this because it was highly rated by Comsumer Reports & there was a good after thanksgiving sale. I needed to replace my Kenmore canister vac after my kids broke it.
It does a good job of picking up dirt, & I like that it lets me know when the carpet is clean, but I find the attachments harder to use than the canister vac. It's cumbersome to switch between tools and agitator so I end up visiting each room twice, once with each. Althought this is a good vacuume, I would buy the canister if I could do it over, I LOVED my canister vac! vacuume!"

"Model 35922 for no reason often turns off often while I am using it. Even the slightest bump on a floor molding or anything turns it off. Had mine for 9 months and the first bag is not even full--so I can only speculate it doesn't get as much dirt up as my old Hoover."

"I purchased this vacuum by looking it up on Consumer Reports, which rated it highly. I was impressed when I got it home and put it together, sturdy and powerful. The only negative comment I have is about furniture attachment. I had to take it apart twice after cleaning the stairs to unclog the brushes. All the other features work great. Replacement bags are a little expensive, 2 for $9."

"I love the way this vacuum does the floor, the edges are another matter. If you don't care about clean edges or extra work trying to get your edges clean buy this vacuum. Also it doesn't hold all of the hand tools so you have to store them somewhere else. The only other thing, I think all heavy vacuums need a handle on the front so you can lift up a stair. or just a step. But as far as I know none have a handle to help out the ladies."

"A vacuum is not something one normally gets excited about, but if you want a vacuum that really deep cleans your carpets, this is the one to get. The Intelliclean feature is great. At first you will think the vacuum is malfunctioning because it operates at full power and never seems to back off. It's just pulling the years of embedded dirt out of your carpet. It will eventually indicate a clean carpet and begin operating at lower power. Your carpets will feel new again. The direct drive brush motor means no belts to change. If something stops the brush, the built-in circuit breaker just trips. Just reset it and you're back in business. My only gripe is that the brush shuts if the handle is brought anywhere near to the upright position. Otherwise this machine is excellent in all respects, offering better performance and versatility than my $1200 Kirby. Tools and accessories are functional and easy to use and changing the bag is a snap. Get this vacuum. You will not be disappointed."

"I haven't owned this vacuum for very long; 6 - 8 months and already it isn't sweeping up anything. The tools are working fine but it won't sweep the floor. It probably doesn't help that I can't find my owners manual; there might be a quick fix but trying to get ready for Christmas and not being able to sweep is frustrating."

"I love this vacuum cleaner! The only thing I found a problem with is the attachments, the hose attachments do not stay together very well. It would be nice if they went back to the metal attachments, or a much stronger plastic. Otherwise, this vacuum cleaner has great suction and it doesn't blow everything it its path all over the place, (something I have found in lower priced vacuums) and the intelliclean is fantastic! It is definitely worth the price!"

"I got this vacuum about a month ago. Wow! What a difference! With a big lab and 2 long haired cats, and a very active toddler, we needed clean. All of us have dust allergies too. This has made such a big difference. Allergies are not gone, but it is easier to breathe. I use this almost every day now. We have both rugs and hard wood floors. The in-handle swtiches make it sooo easy to go between floor types without worring about damaging the wood or fussing with different cumbersome attachments. The only downside is there is no good cord -clip on the handle to keep it up while in use...cord tends to completely unravel. Other than that I think this is a fantastic machine!"

"This is the best vacuum I've ever had. I vacuumed my house for 2 1/2 hours when I got it. I just kept vacuuming until the dirt sensor said clean on ever part on my carpet. "I had a $129 Hoover and it didn’t pick up dog hair. I would go back and forth and it was still there. I bought the Kenmore and it picks up the hair on the first pass. I was amazed at how well it removes hair and cleans the carpet. I never knew a vacuum cleaner could work this well. It is the best vacuum I have ever used. I am not the kind of person that writes reviews but I was so impressed with this machine I decided to let everyone know how good it cleans."

"We purchased this model after reading the "best buy" review in Consumers Reports a couple of years ago. The sales clerk told my wife that it was self propelled and unfortunately, it is not. The tubes locked closed and they had to be replaced, the switch had to be replaced and the thing is heavy. There are no edge cleaners and it refuses to pick items up that are an inch away from the wall. They could give it to me at no cost and I wouldn't be interested."
