This electric pole-mounted chainsaw is actually two saws in one - it can be used as a pole saw or as a handheld electric chainsaw. To convert it to a handheld chainsaw, simply detach the saw from the removable, adjustable fiberglass pole. Trigger lockout prevents accidental starting.

Indispensible tool, with qualifications...,
December 13, 2008
By Willinillifrom Santa Fe, NM
"If you have trees that need periodic trimming and can't afford a tree service, you need one of these. I have several large Siberian Elms that grow like weeds and need annual branch removal, this handled even the largest branches. The first one of these I bought had two defects; the oiler didn't work, so make sure yours works when you pump it. And the extender clamp came off the bottom pole section. The problem is, it's made of plastic, and will fail eventually. They really should have made this piece from metal. I exhanged it and the second one works fine so far.
Like any chainsaw, the important thing is to keep the chain sharp and well oiled. Push the oiler bulb several times before each cut. Chain oil is alot cheaper than a new chain.
All in all, a very good saw for a hundred bucks."

Sweet little tool!,

"With vines and small? trees growing to the point where they are growing along the telephone lines behind the garage and over the garage roof, this bad boy cut them down to size in no time. I just put the end in between the belt and my pants and had at it.
It is one sweet tool!"

Great little saw,
November 12, 2008
By mangotreefrom Honolulu, HI
"I bought this to trim an overgrown mango tree. Professional tree trimmers wanted $750 or more to do the job. It cuts like a champ. It is a little heavy with the pole fully extended, but not too hard to handle. Since I don't have another chain saw, the ability to remove the pole and use as a regular saw was a big advantage. I was able to cut up all the branches on the ground in short order. Switching from pole to regular saw is so easy that I went back and forth between pole and regular saw a few times to clear the ground before moving on to more branches. It only requires one bolt with wing nut to fasten the pole to the saw, but it is a sturdy mount. The fiberglass pole did come apart from the plastic clamp assembly where the aluminum pole slides inside the fiberglass when I used it to cut limbs on the ground while still attached to the pole. Guess it wasn't fastened good and the pulling force of the saw separated it. I just super glued it back together instead of hassling with a return. Besides, when used overhead as normal the weight of the saw keeps it firmly seated. If I could change one thing it would be to make the oiler automatic instead of a manual push bulb. I tended to forget to pump the bulb often enough while sawing."

Met anticipated and unanticipated needs,
October 11, 2008
By HoosierPalfrom Batesville, IN
"I needed a pole chain saw to do the occasional trimming around the yard (about seven large trees). I wasn't very interested in the maintenance of a gas-powered chain saw (I have enough spark plugs and oil changes to do as it is), and I already had a trimmer, so wasn't interested in purchasing a new trimmer just to get the benefit of a chain saw attachment. I learned of this saw from a review of one of the gas-powered pole chain saws. I purchased it because it looked like it met the need, and thought it was a good price. One of the things I like about it is that the pole is basically just a support w/ an extension cord inside. The switch in the handle turns on/off the power to the cable. At the end is a chain saw that can be used independently of the pole. This is a great feature. I like this much better than the pole chain saws that have the motor at the base, a spinning axel in the pole, and the blade at the end. I have found the 10" blade to be the right size for everything I've cut so far. Any limb or tree requiring a blade bigger than that probably requires a heftier chainsaw anyway. My Dad has been using gas powered chain saws forever, but he has recently had health issues which has limited how long he can do outdoor work. We had downed-limbs from a recent storm at his place to deal with, and he found this chain saw to be of the right size and weight to allow him to work much much longer than if he were to use one of his gas-powered chain saws. Maintenance is easy. Because I hang the chain saw on the wall in my garage, the oil can drip from saw. Therefore, I pour out the oil when I'm not using the chain saw into another container for future use."

"I've been doing tree work for over 25 years. I've priced the gas operated pole saws but never purchased one because of the high price. This $100 pole saw is worth it's weight in gold. Easy to operate. I bought it and brought it right to a job site. Within 10 minutes I was cutting branches over a chimney."

Two Thumbs Way Up,
January 25, 2008

"I bought the remington pole saw to trim large branches before hurricane season. On my property I have about 12 large oak trees and as many royal palm trees. I normally pay guys to get this done. After a couple of weekends of work I saved a fortune with this little machine. Its small, easy to handle and powerful...."tighty mighty!" Great Investment! Thanks"

You'd be surprised what this saw can cut!,
December 25, 2007
By DJWZfrom South Jersey
"I've had this saw for over a year now, and while I've never used it as a pole pruner, I use it as a chain saw all the time. I heat w/wood, but cannot handle a gas chain saw. I've had 3 operations on my arms. I needed a light weight saw that would hold up to the demands that I was going to place on it, so I decided to try this saw. As long as the saw is sharp, full of oil, and I'm near a power source, I can cut logs that are bigger than what they say you can cut, I just roll the log, and if necessary, split off what's already been cut. I don't know how big the biggest log actually was that I cut this way, but it was quite huge, and wild black cherry to boot. (Which is very tough) My only problem? There is wood that I've been told I can have that's too far away from a power source for me to cut up, and it's too heavy to lift. I'm seriously thinking of buying a small generator that I can use as a power source. And for those of you who may be ladies reading this and wondering if you can use it, I'm a middle aged woman."

"I have had this saw for more than a year. All the weight is at the top, making it very hard to work with for any lenght of time. It is just to heavy. Chain slips off frequently. Ok for using as a hand chain saw, but not to add to the pole. I would not recommend this saw."

"This is the perfect saw for trimming smaller limbs. It is light enough for easy mobility, yet tough enough to chew through those pesky limbs that grow too thick or too close to homes. With hurricane season already here, the saw helped me to do some proactive cutting."

"If you have tall trees and the thought of climbing a ladder with a gas chainsaw, weakens your knees, this is the pole saw for you...from 1 inch branches to 6 inch limbs, this little saw makes quick work of it. From oak to ficus, cutting is a breese and the lightweight makes it usable for long periods of time.....the detachable pole is a major plus as well, and no messy gas mixing..... well worth a "C" note.....A+"

"Great value. Real useful for quickly triming trees. If there is one area for improvement, it would be to have an automatic oiler, or at least an oil primer bulb that was a bit sturdier. Good product, good price!"

"The product accomplishes what is was designed for. It works well until you get to larger limbs on which it still works but takes alot more time and effort to get through. I would recommend it for others to use and use mine quite frequently. Make sure you keep the oil full to ensure the best possible cut times."
