The lightweight WORX GT battery-powered grass trimmer is the winner of the Popular Mechanic's Editor's Choice award. The grass trimmer weighs less than a gallon of milk and is the only trimmer on the market which converts from a standard grass trimmer to a true walk-behind edger-2 tools in one. The only tool you will need to perfectly manicure your yard after you mow. Forget the hassle of pull starters- the WORX GT starts with the single push of a button. Forget the aggravation of untangling extension cords- the battery-powered WORX GT can run up to 45 minutes on a single charge. It goes anywhere you need to.

Good product,
August 27, 2008

"I just tried my new Worx trimmer last night. Being without a trimmer for about 3 weeks, the grass around our flower garden was about 10" tall and thick crab grass. I was not sure an 18v trimmer would do the job, but it powered through it. It did bog down a little in the thickest areas, but it got the job done. I also tried it on some large weeds on the side of the property and I was surprised with its performance. It is lighter than most gas powered trimers, well balanced and very easy to use. Just pick it up and go. For the average home owner this is great. It won't mow down a field, but it is not designed for that. The other plus is you know it will always start in the spring time, with no winterizing needed, no yanking on a pull starter or having to buy gas. And grass did not wind around the trimmer spool like it can with gas trimmers. So far I am very pleased."

Worx GT,

"I bought this product with a second battery, I have just a tad over a half of an acre which about 1/3 of it is fenced in, also multiple mulch beds. I wanted to get something lite as where my gas weed eather was killing my back. I seen the advertisements and gave it a shot after researching it a little bit. I am very impressed it is the best edger I have ever used, not only does it do my driveway it edges all of my mulch beds, and I get around about half of the fenceline before i have to change batteries. I get compliments on my edges by neighbors every week. They always ask me how I do it, I tell them Worx GT!!! The only con would be that the automatic line feeder is not the best you will have to pull some string out manually, but it does have a little button on the side of the feeder, so all you have to do is push the button and pull the string to the desired length. Give it a shot you will not be disappointed!!!"

Worx GT WG150.1,

"I have been using the Worx GT WG150.1 trimmer for the last couple months now and the trimmer is amazing. It is lightweight and very easy to get trimming done in no time. The adjustments are endless and I love how you can just stop and go with a release of the trigger. The only improvement I would suggest is if Worx could offer an 18V Lithion-Ion battery as an additional option for extended battery life."

Best purchase yet,

"I have to say, this is one of the best purchases I made for the garden. I read previous complaints and they are probably justified if you are a professional gardener but for those working on their own yard it is just what you need. I had plenty of power to trim and weed . When I first used it I did have lot of backed up weeds so I burned through the battery once, then charged it and finished up. Now when I use it I can get everything in the front and back yard and still have some battery life to spare. If you get it for what it was made for, that is house yards, it is great!!!!"

BUY GAS Trimmer!,
May 15, 2008
By Anonymous Reviewerfrom Pink Hill, N.C.
"Edger does not work. Trimmer does not work in thick grass or weeds. It is light weight and starts every time. That is the only good thing. Customer has to pay to ship back to company, and they dont give full refund. I had to pay to have it shipped to me & to send it back!!!"

I don’t recommend this product.,

"The good thing is that it starts ever time and it is not heavy. However, it does not have any power. It does not work to cut thick grass and it does not work as an edger. You need to do double the work because it does not cut the grass. I plan to purchase a new gas trimmer that actually cuts grass."

"My wife and I are newly weds and purchased our first home. We bought a lawn mower and needed a weedeater as well. I saw this item on an informercial before church one morning and after some research, placed the order. I use to borrow a gas weedeater and hated it. Now my neighbors borrow mine! It does well for small jobs as it is intended for. I was a skeptic turned beleiver!"

"I asked my husband for this trimmer for my birthday.I did alot of reading and this one was rated so well, and the most light weight. It is so easy to use, light as can be and fully fuctional for our rustic yard as we live on the river and everything grows like crazy. I recommend this for anybody to use around the yard and on trails."

"This is the best purchase we have made in years. Lightweight and extremely easy to use. When I have my yard done-I find myself looking at the neighbors just so I can use it! My old weedeater made my back hurt-had to drag around a cord and most of the time the bopping process to advance the line didn't work and I would have to manually pull the string out. We carry this one on the mower and can reach out and trim around ornamentals while we mow. The edging works great. Leaves a sharp edge. We are considering getting a second one in case this one wears out!!"

"The Worx 18v trimmer is made by Positec USA, a company specializing in electric (corded/cordless) tools. They recently received two Popular Mechanic's Editor's choice awards, one for their revolutionary circular saw design and one for this very trimmer!
If you've ever seen a commercial for it, most of their claims are true. It is very light, very easy to convert it to an edger, rotate the handle, telescope the handle, and change the angle of the cutting head for different tasks. The battery recharges in less than an hour, so it is basically like a cordless drill battery. The only thing that worried me was the line, which is good and sharp but is thin nonetheless, or maybe I'm just used to big and bulky trimmers.
Anyways, I definitely recommend it! If you don't want to worry about gas and oil, cords, pull-starting, or breaking your back, make this investment! It really is all it is cracked up to be."
